Open science
Open Science encompasses open access to scientific knowledge, data, and results. The Open Science movement emerged as reaction to the growing need for transparently sharing data collected in scientific research, making the results freely and easily available to both experts and the general public. Open Science consists of a range of different yet related ideas and concepts with the shared mission – to remove all the existing barriers for finding relevant, accurate, and reproducible information, as well as to encourage the cooperation and knowledge sharing between scholars in the same scientific field. Thus, Open Science includes open access to scientific publications, open data, open methodology, free software, as well as open code. That is, Open Science implies that all the phases and products of the research process are accessible and transparent – from methodology planning, resources and instruments used, to databases.
The studies partially or fully funded by the budget of the Republic of Serbia are conducted in accordance with the principles of Open Science, through methodology sharing, data sharing, and publishing the articles in open access journals or depositing them in repositories.
